Financial Literacy Support

Resident Financial Stability Coaching

Financial stability is the foundation of long-term housing success. SWB Delivers' Resident Financial Stability Coaching provides residents with one-on-one guidance and practical tools to strengthen their financial well-being and achieve their personal goals. Our Resident Success Specialists work collaboratively with residents to develop realistic household budgets, improve money management skills, establish savings goals, review credit and debt reduction strategies, and create personalized action plans that support long-term housing stability. Residents also receive assistance connecting with public benefits, emergency financial resources, employment opportunities, and other community programs that can reduce financial stress and increase household resilience. Our goal is to empower every resident with the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to make informed financial decisions, build economic independence, and thrive within their community.

Financial Literacy Self-Pace Workshop

The SWB Delivers Financial Literacy Workshop is a free, self-paced online learning program designed to help residents build the knowledge and confidence needed to achieve long-term financial success. Participants can complete the course at their own pace while learning practical skills that can be applied immediately to everyday life.

The workshop covers essential topics including budgeting and money management, understanding credit and improving credit scores, debt reduction strategies, banking and savings, financial goal setting, fraud and identity theft prevention, managing household expenses, and planning for future financial security. Throughout the program, residents are encouraged to develop personalized financial action plans that support their individual goals and strengthen their housing stability.

Upon completion, residents will have a stronger foundation for making informed financial decisions, increasing savings, reducing financial stress, and building a more secure future for themselves and their families. Residents who complete the workshop may also become eligible for additional Resident Success incentives and financial coaching opportunities offered through SWB Delivers.

Money Management Tools

Building healthy financial habits starts with having the right tools. As part of our Resident Success Services, SWB Delivers provides residents with practical money management tools designed to help them stay organized, make informed financial decisions, and achieve their financial goals. Residents receive budgeting worksheets, spending trackers, bill payment calendars, savings goal planners, and personalized financial action plans that make managing household finances simple and achievable.

Our Resident Success Specialists work one-on-one with residents to review their progress, celebrate milestones, and identify opportunities for continued growth. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, we encourage residents to recognize and reward their financial accomplishments—whether it's paying rent on time, reducing debt, building an emergency savings fund, or completing a financial literacy milestone. By celebrating progress along the way, residents stay motivated, build confidence, and develop lasting financial habits that support long-term housing stability and personal success.

Our goal is to empower every resident with the tools, encouragement, and accountability needed to take control of their finances, reduce financial stress, and create a stronger future for themselves and their families.

Credit Restoration Services

As part of our Resident Success Program, we provide complimentary Credit Restoration Services to help participants strengthen their financial readiness for housing approval. This service includes a comprehensive review of each participant’s credit report, where our Credit Restoration Specialist identifies barriers that may impact rental eligibility.

Participants receive guidance and tools to improve their FICO scores, dispute reporting inaccuracies, and address issues such as late payments, charge-offs, and delinquencies. In addition, volunteer Financial Planners, Tax Preparers, and Accountants support participants in learning how to read and monitor their credit reports, make informed financial decisions, and maintain healthy credit activity over time.

Housing Navigation & Placement

Our Housing Counselors work directly with participants to apply for affordable and low-income housing opportunities that align with their individual needs. Each housing plan is customized based on location preferences, unit size, income qualifications, and household demographics to ensure the best possible placement outcomes.

Participants receive curated housing listings, detailed application requirements, and hands-on assistance submitting applications directly to housing providers. For households needing financial support, we also connect participants to renter’s assistance resources that may help cover security deposits and first month’s rent.

To expand access, our Housing Data Analyst conducts extensive regional research to identify affordable housing opportunities across multiple counties, including Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, Napa, Santa Clara, San Joaquin, and Marin.

Post-Permanent Housing Support

Our services continue well beyond housing placement. Once participants secure permanent housing, we provide ongoing stabilization support to help households successfully transition and maintain long-term stability.

We encourage participants to remain engaged through follow-up case management check-ins, wellness assessments, financial literacy workshops, and community volunteer opportunities. At SWB Delivers, we consider every participant part of our extended family — and we remain committed to supporting their journey toward sustained housing, financial growth, and overall well-being.
